Saving Lillian Bay: Cystic Hygroma

Many doctors that diagnosis Cystic Hygroma before birth recommend termination of the pregnancy. Parents are also told that even if the baby survives the birth, the chances are low that the child will continue living. However, there is little research to support this recommendation to parents.

Another problem is that the medical costs far exceed what private insurance would cover.

It is an impossible choice that parents are forced to make.

Fortunately for Lillian Bay who was diagnosed with Cystic Hygroma as a baby, her parents refused to give up on her life. Brad Beatty, father of Lillian, works as a UPS driver on the island of Boca Grande.

Residents on the island are some of the most powerful and influential people in the world, including CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, former United States Presidents, world-class athletes, musicians, authors, and entertainers. The residents on Boca Grande came to Lillian’s rescue and raised the millions of dollars needed, along with sending her to the best medical facilities in the world.

Two and a half years later,Lillian Bay had beaten the odds.

Children born with Cystic Hygroma need specialized clinics, detailed studies, accurate counseling, and financial support for medical costs and out of pocket expenses. We need to make sure every child with Cystic Hygroma has at least a chance to survive.

Lillian Bay is LIVING proof…
