Support High School Theater/Drama

theaterI went to my first high school play last year and found myself captivated by the amazing job the teenage students did with their performance. In fact, I went to the next three shows and volunteered to help at the theater’s next function. Then, I started looking up other high school plays in the area and attended those shows.

I was hooked.

Of course, like all artistic programs, theater does not receive the amount of funding that is needed. But the students and teachers work hard with very little and create something amazing.

Here are a few reasons to attend a high school play:

~ Lower priced than a downtown play.

~ Witness students that will someday become famous actors.

~ You will be awed by the talent.

~ Every performance is different.

~ Most high school plays will have you laughing out loud.

~ The students glow when you compliment them after the performance.

The biggest reason is that the play sticks with your the rest of you life.

To give credit for my first theater experience, I want to thank North Port High School in North Port, Florida. You can see their upcoming Seussical on the following dates/times:

April 12th at 7:00 p.m.

April 13th at 7:00 p.m.

April 14th at 3:00 p.m.
